Off-Grid.png

Please note our property is totally Off-Grid, with no connections to mains power, water or gas. Our power is captured from solar and wind and then stored in batteries. All water is from rainfall and stored in tanks. As our resources are limited, please be conservative with power, water and gas usage during your stay. Drinking water is only available from indoor taps. Note the Shack has a limited power supply in both quantity and maximum wattage available. Please check with us before plugging in any of your own high powered devices. Low wattage devices like mobile phones and computers are fine. Click to view battery monitor. If you need a steam iron, there’s one located in the laundry.

WiFi.png

NBN Wifi is available in all buildings and across most of the property. The Guest Wifi password is “blueberry”. Video can be streamed via Chromecast to Shack 5's TV. Music can be played on Shack 5’s Echo speaker via bluetooth or just say “Alexa play music”.

AC.png

As we are off-grid, there is no air conditioner in the Shack. Please use room fans as needed. We recommend closing all windows and blinds during hot days and opening them at night as there is a cool breeze most evenings.

Heater.png

Please turn off the gas heater if you go out for long periods of time. We can turn it back on for you at an appropriate time on request. If the gas runs out, please contact us as the gas bottles will need to be swapped over. Never leave electric blankets on while you are out or sleeping.

Toilet.png

The toilet is a composting toilet and does not require flushing. Please add one or two scoops of sawdust to the compost toilet after use. A spray bottle is available for aiming mishaps. Leave the extraction fan on at all times. Please do not place sanitary items, nappies or flushable wipes in the toilet. Use paper provided to wrap your sanitary items and place in the bin.

Break.png

Please report any damage or other issues during your stay to us before your departure.
